The owner of the Hotel Sourmeli, Giannis, was the most accommodating, hard-working, and hospitable host I've ever met in all my travels. He picked us up from our ferry, arranged for our ATV rentals, helped us arrange a transfer to the airport, gave us fresh olives from his tree, and shared with us many entertaining stories of growing up in the US and Greece. This hotel has been in his family for generations, and he takes very good care of it with pride.
It is very close to town and has a beautiful courtyard - a great place to read a book in the shade.
The rooms are pretty basic, but they are large and have what you need. If you don't care about room ambiance and just want a quiet and comfortable place to sleep, then this is a great find.
